I would like to merge two computers which are in fact the same computer (it happened when I reattached to the project). In other projects, I was able to merge by selecting a computer from the list of computers and click the "merge.." link at the bottom of the page. In this project, there is no link. |

There is no such link anywhere that says "Merge this computer"!!! go here or "your account", "computers-view" from the front page. select the "computer ID" of the computer in question, scroll to the bottom of the page and a link should normally be there. |

There is no such link anywhere that says "Merge this computer"!!! They turned it off. Caused the server to have a hissy-fit. Proudly Banned from Predictator@Home and now Cosmology@home as well. Added SETI to the list today. Temporary ban only - so need to work harder :) "You can't fix stupid" (Ron White) |

There is no such link anywhere that says "Merge this computer"!!! More specifically - from Technical news: March 22, 2006 Recently our database server has been crushed repeatedly resulting in webserver slowdowns. Tracking all of this down has been a real challenge. This AM it was noticed that during every slowdown someone was trying to 'merge' two client hosts. After eliminating everything else as a possibility we were left to wonder if this merging of hosts could really be a problem. After disasterously wasteful searching of many unrelated issues, it was discovered that SETI@home had this very problem last month (see the entry for February 1, 2006 on the SETI@home Technical News Page). We have disabled host merges until we can upgrade the database software. Proudly Banned from Predictator@Home and now Cosmology@home as well. Added SETI to the list today. Temporary ban only - so need to work harder :) "You can't fix stupid" (Ron White) |

John, host merging is currently disabled. We need to update the MySQL software before we can allow merging once again. We're trying this on RALPH and if all goes well we'll implement the same upgrade here. -KEL |

Does anyone have an estimated time frame when the merge computer function will be enabled. My computers really need some spring cleaning. |

Does anyone have an estimated time frame when the merge computer function will be enabled. My computers really need some spring cleaning. Dr. Baker has committed to having this fixed very soon. Still cannot merge these two hosts https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/host_edit_action.php?id_0=170243&id_1=114836&nhosts=2 They are the same hardware (dual boot) On configuring DNS servers domain at the root of the forest, I made a mistake, what resulted in two equal hosts with different names carlos.cp3 and carlos And now, they don't merge -:( Thanks, Click signature for global team stats |

G'day hawkeyefan Welcome to Rosetta@Home. To merge computers they have to be exactly the same, this includes the Operating System. So these computers will not merge. |

G'day hawkeyefan In other projects, I was allowed to merge hosts, even with different host names, different-OS(s) different RAM and different CPU type However thats not very important -:) *Only this masquerades the number of computers I have attached to the project.
