Thank you to all R@h volunteers for your contributions to help accurately model important coronavirus proteins. The collective computing power that you provide through R@h helps academic research groups world wide model important protein structures like these. From a recent IPD news post: "We are happy to report that the Rosetta molecular modeling suite was recently used to accurately predict the atomic-scale structure of an important coronavirus protein weeks before it could be measured in the lab. Knowledge gained from studying this viral protein is now being used to guide the design of novel vaccines and antiviral drugs." Since the release of SARS-CoV-2 genome sequences in late January, a number of important corona virus proteins like the one described above have been modeled on R@h volunteer computers. A list of these proteins is provided by the Seattle Structural Genomics Center for Infectious Disease (SSGCID). |

Hi, I would like to know if I run this project how to get job only to calculate the protein structure of the coronavirus. I am asking because I run other project and mainly focus on that however I would help on this. |

Sorry, no way to request specific types of work units. So be sure to keep in mind that any non-COVID-19 work units are helping develop the tool that was able to provide such an immediate and accurate structure prediction of the virus. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

All work will only serve to improve Protein Folding science and capability, which will help the field in the long run produce accurate results even faster. |

This is very cool. I'm proud to be part of this and of all you like minded people trying to help. Only hope that money doesn't stop the people that need it from getting it. |

Never expected to hear this, what a surprise. I'm very happy at this news, as I live in Daegu, South Korea. The whole city has been swept by an insane cult, where the members believe in literal immunity from any kind of health problems, and physical immortality. |

is working for rosetta@home enought? or should i select coronavirus research in some way? There is no special selection necessary, or possible. They are all in the same pool. Welcome aboard. We are all concerned about Italy. |

Hi I come from Denmark, I would also like to contribute to a faster research on the Corona virus, so we can develop a vaccine so that people are not lost to this viral virus, I myself am disabled with, among other things, impaired lung function. So I am sorry that it is important to help in clearing this disease, but I have doubts that I have chosen the right project, so I hope you will answer my question? Thank you in advance for your help... Sincerely Henrik Larsen |
