Client: let a project master URL change from http: to https: without involving the user.

That would've' been nice a little while back.

Since i'm out of work in this system i thought i'd give the new BOINC version a try.
Unfortunately it still requires user intervention to go from HTTP to HTTPS- detaching & re-attaching to the project and loosing all my historical stats stored locally on that system.

Exited BOINC, ran the new BOINC version installer.
After installing and running benchmarks it had in it's event log

So i detached & re-attached using the supplied URL from the event log as an existing user.

It looks like you have a pair of major player systems with big NVIDIA GPU's. Your current stat's show very good averages on Rosetta.

It looks like you have a pair of major player systems with big NVIDIA GPU's. Your current stat's show very good averages on Rosetta.

The GPUs were very good in their day, but the current series from Nvidia & even AMD now make them look pretty average (the current RTX 3060Tis for compute work are almost on par with RTX 2080Tis! With software that makes use of functions the 2080Tis didn't have, they can actually outperform them. Of course then you have the RTX 2070s, 3080s & 3090s which make the 3060Tis look rather tame. It's a shame you need to sell body parts to get enough money to pay the scalpers to buy any of them).

Same with the CPUs- the i7-8700Ks were mid high end at the time, but decidedly very average now compared to the current Ryzen 5000 series (if you're lucky enough to be able to get one).

It's good to see things progressing significantly after being pretty stale for a few years there.

You can always send those gpu's my way...I know how to make them work too AND they would be a nice upgrade from my 1080Ti's. LOL

Unfortunately the version of BOINC in most Linux repositories are fairly dated. If you run Ubuntu you can use the Locutus of Borg ppa to get a more recent version. Gianfranco is the Debian/Ubuntu maintainer. He has 7.16.15 on there at the moment.
