Yes its win nt4 sp6a. I updated to the ver 5.4.9. The machine is crunching fine..... unless I go into the Advanced/Options menue.

Boinc Quits and leaves the rosy apps running. Now if you restart the boinc manager it looks ok. If you quit thru the file/exit way it leaves the rosy apps running.

A reboot saves the day.

Is there anyway of turning OFF those message boxes that popup telling you that the comms are down. I simply disconnect the proxy server from the internet over night...... and now get a pagefull of popups.

Ps dont set the Reminder Frequency to zero...

My Evesham node runs NT4 SP6a, it is still running 5.2.13. Sounds like it might stay that way.

Not sure about the messages, but you CAN set a preference in your general preferences indicating that BOINC is not allowed to use the network during certain hours of the day. Once you update to the project to get the preference change, you have to be sure and set the BOINC Manager to network activity based on preferences. This is in the commands menu (the menu pulldown is called "Activity" in the new BOINC version).

So will avoid the messages because it will not attempt to use the network until the proper time of day. And if you've got other PCs that you want full-time network, you just set that with the BOINC Manager pulldown and say network activity always available and that overrides the preference setting.
