Hi, I am using a 1Ghz iMac G4 with 10.4 Tiger. BOINC client 5.4.9 The WU gets to about 1.04% rather quickly, but then it starts to go very slowly.. probably about 10 minutes to got to 1.041% and so on. Around that percentage of completion, it says it in the Full Atom Relax stage. Each work unit only takes about 2 hours to complete.. but I never see the % go to 1.05%. The time to completion says 21:xx:xx and goes up at the same rate as the CPU time. What's happening?? Is there a problem with the client not updating me correctly because i've only gotten 1 result that said it was a client error. |

That's exactly how Rosetta works (that's a different than most other BOINC projects, where the progress indicator increments smoothly). Often it might stay at low % for a long time and then jump to 100% and complete. You can tell progress by watching the "Step" counter (bottom-right). If it's incrementing, it's OK. PS: Have you tweaked WU runtime to reduce it to 1hr? Unless you're troubleshooting your computer, it should preferrably be higher, either the default (currently 4hr) or better 8hrs/WU. Hi, I am using a 1Ghz iMac G4 with 10.4 Tiger. BOINC client 5.4.9 As dimitris has said this behavior is normal in many ways. However I would add that if you look at this result from your system, you can see that the Rosetta "Watchdog" terminated the run. This feature was added to Rosetta to prevent work units from hanging or stalling on a system and running on forever. While it may appear that this represents an error it is also normal. You may find a lot of interesting and helpful information in the Rosetta FAQs linked from my signature below. In particular you should take a look at information on the Rosetta "Time" setting, "Watchdog" function, and granting of credit for Errors work units. Moderator9 ROSETTA@home FAQ Moderator Contact |
