Is there a way to optimize Rosetta so it will run faster on Mac os X 10.4 "Tiger"? I have a 1.60 Ghz windows notebook (190 RAM), and a 1 Ghz iMac G4 (512 RAM). The notebook can go through about five times as many models withen the time the iMac goes through 1 model. I read somewhere that the compromise to making Rosetta run on both 10.3 and 10.4 was to have a slower client... Just wondering if there was a way to speed it up. Thanks! |

To date the work has not started but it is coming soon. When I know more about the timing I will post on the subject. There is no doubt that an altivec version would improve performance significantly. Moderator9 ROSETTA@home FAQ Moderator Contact |
