If someone has 7 computers, is it possible to get 71,399 credits in one day? (Let's assume he doesn't have 7 super computers in his basement)

I was looking at other people's stats that joined on the same day, and the top person is getting 71,399 a day.

Without knowing which user you are talking about, it is going to be hard to comment. Perhaps they have MORE than 7 computers? Since your's are hidden, and there's are unidentified in your post, I wasn't clear if YOU had 7 or the other person.

There has been some discussion about cheating.

And there are some users that have added 85 hosts in a day!

It's possible to download several days of work, crunch it, and then report it all back at one time... but it sounds like you are gauging by the user's join date, so that probably doesn't explain what you are seeing.

How did you find users that joined the same day you did?

One place to find that kind of information is on the Boinc Synergy stats site.

The bottom portion of this page http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/index.php has "Links to Stats pages by categories". User by Signup Date, is one of the categories. Not sure if that is were it was gotten from, but that is one place to get it. :-)

I looked on boincstats.com

I was looking at people with the same amount of hosts as myself, but then went to by signup date. What I didn't realize, is that the link didn't cross reference # of hosts and signup date.


The person I was looking at, once I went back and acutally "looked" signed up 127 hosts instead of 7. I guess I got confused between the links.

I was looking at other people's stats that joined on the same day, and the top person is getting 71,399 a day.

This actually is possible if a person connects a single compute to the project and uses it to feed other computers by moving the work units around. They could be processed by a large number of "backroom" systems and then placed back on the attached system for upload. This would give the impression that a single system had done all the work, when in fact the results could have been created by any number of systems, that are invisible to the server.

But In this case I see you may have misread the stats for the number of actual systems involved.
