I see a temporary BOINC work file in Directory C:Program FilesBOINC... Do all project running the BOINC Application use the same work file? Also, I'm installing an IRAM solid state hard drive on the machine and would like to move the Temp file there. Can this be done? Thanks |

You can probably move all of boinc there if the drive is big enough. * Right-click on the icon and 'exit' * Make a backup of boinc just in case... * Copy the entire c:program filesboinc directory to your solid state disk * Uninstall boinc * Reinstall boinc in the same place you made your copy * Run the manager again. With a bit of luck it'll be running from the new location. You could also update to 5.4.9 while you're doing that, while there isn't much difference from us participants viewpoint, I think that the project gets extra debug information if they need it. |

Yep that will work. And you don't need a special backup, because you are just doind a copy. And you don't need to reinstall BOINC if you know how to change the Windows icon to point to the new path. Unfortunately, I don't believe you can configure it to JUST have the "slots" directories used as a WU crunches over on the firmware. I'd like to do something similar, but haven't found a way other than to run all of BOINC on the new drive.
