I think that they really need to get their act together if they want people to help them. I raed the FAQ and I changed and updated my settings so it runs all the time and to allow it to switch applications but it does not seem to want top do anything! I am giving it 24 hourse then I am detaching and attaching to another project. |

Under one of the workunits, does it say running? If one of the workunits is running, then it is working. It can only work on one work unit at a time. I went and looked at your results and it looks like you were given credit but you aborted the result. It seems like your computer is running Rosetta just fine. It one of the workunits says running, please let the result run and report back automatically. The whole process goes without you having to do anything. |

Also, it looks like you aborted two workunits and the other 3 were computing erros. I would copy this thread into the Number Crunching message board under problems with rosetta v.5.24 Thanks |

Elias - if you change your system to non hidden mode, we can start making informed suggestions from any errors that appear in your WUs, if any have been crunched on your system. https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/home.php post your general preferences, and the rosetta preferences. "Should Rosetta@home show your computers on its web site?" should be set to "yes" How is Boinc setup on your machine? (service install, stand alone app, or as screensaver?) There's a few things that we'll need to know to help determine if it's a Boinc problem, Rosetta problem, or problem with your system. OS version? I remember having difficulty getting Rosetta to start running again after I'd suspended it, since there's a couple different spots to stop/suspend Boinc jobs. Perhaps one of those more familiar with Boinc will lend a hand on tracking down all the spots that a job can be suspended, since I don't remember the step that got mine working. |

BennyRop, his computer is visible. That is how I saw the workunit errors. Click his name and his computers are showing right now. |

I've been putting the userid at the end of this line to see results: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/results.php?userid= and it doesn't work for Elias or you, Darin. Live and learn.. |

BennyRop, you need to figure out how to look at his computer. You don't put our nickname after userid=, you have to put our user id, which is a number. Here is the link to his results: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/results.php?hostid=264085 and another link to his computer: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/hosts_user.php?userid=96772 and another link to his profile thing: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_user.php?userid=96772 Live and learn...BennyRop |

I was in the habit of getting my results, and replacing my userid with other's userids to see their results. Once I erased my userid#, all I used to have to do was tack on someone else's userid# to get the list of their results. https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/results.php?userid=38837 The Rosetta server 5.5 upgrade seems to have broken this technique, since it won't let me look at anyone else's overall results but my own now. The path you mentioned to get to the individual machine's results works fine for small numbers of systems; but for quickly tracking down errors from someone with multiple machines, the overall results were nicer. Live and learn - was in reference to the fact that assuming that something that worked in the past would still work.. is sometimes wrong. :) As for Elias - do any of the Boinc experts want to help with tips on getting Rosetta running so we'll be prepared when he posts a bit more information on his Boinc/Rosetta setup? |

As for Elias - do any of the Boinc experts want to help with tips on getting Rosetta running so we'll be prepared when he posts a bit more information on his Boinc/Rosetta setup? I think there are many that are more than happy to help out... but it's going to take something more descriptive than: ...does not seem to want top do anything! ...besides the "24 hourse" have long since passed, and Elias' computer hasn't talked to R@H since they posted the message. Elias, if you ARE reading this... we're going to need to know if this is your first BOINC project, whether there are other projects currently crunching, how you've determined that is doesn't want to do anything, why your aborted several work units after less than a minute of runtime, and what your current status on the situation is now. Add this signature to your EMail: Running Microsoft's "System Idle Process" will never help cure cancer, AIDS nor Alzheimer's. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |
