I just joined rosetta@home, and everything seems to be working; the site can see my computer. I've actually finished the first two WUs, and they're sitting there marked "Ready to report", but the Report Deadline isn't until 7/21 at 10:54 PM. How do I force BOINC to report ahead of deadline? I'd think this would be a good thing.

As Jose wrote, click "update".

Anyway, BOINC doesn't wait 2 weeks until WU deadline to report completed WUs, but it limits frequency of connections to the BOINC server(s) to the interval you define (in your user profile).

If you set it to e.g. 0.1days, then your BOINC client will connect to Rosetta@home's BOINC server every ~2hr to upload done WUs and download new WUs.

But you can force a connection anytime, hitting "update".

Hedera, welcome to Rosetta! In general, it is best not to try and "force" BOINC to do things. It will take care of itself is almost every case. And so when first using it, let it do it's thing, and observe and learn why it does so.

Thanks, everyone, for your responses. As Feet1st suggested, I'm just not patient enough. I went away and did some laundry and got a haircut, and when i came back it had uploaded results. In fact, it seems to have uploaded more results than I remember having (?!), since there were two WUs in "Ready to Report" status when I left, and my results now show three in "Done" status. I've even found the Update button Jose mentioned, and learned still more about the BOINC client. You learn something every day...
