This happens because the % doesn't really update much until a model is complete, and some models can take much longer than others. Once the model finishes, the % jumps up to more accurately reflect how long the WU has been running. Note the WU can still finish in the 2 hours allotted--Rosetta will try to run fewer models in the WU to stay within your setting. |

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on it. Haven't run the project in a while. You're right it just jumped to 45% :-) |

Linux, 2 hour work units on BOINC 5.4.9 Rosetta 5.25. Been running for 41 minutes and work unit at 1.042% If a WU's first decoy/model takes longer than your run time preference, it'll take longer than your run time preference. Unless it creates an error, it will finish the decoy/model that it's working on. The percentage that you're quoting is not what you think it is. The ".042" means that you're on step 42. It was a change made to help identify where the program was getting stuck. The valid percentage numbers only show up after a decoy/model is finished. If the model you're working on finishes at 56 minutes, the percentage will jump instantly to around 50% and begin work on model#2. If the model you're working on finishes after 3 hours, it'll jump from 1.xxx% to 100% and start the next WU. This is probably mentioned in the FAQ since it's a question that comes up quite often. Can you see the graphics in Linux? If there's movement on the graphics screen, then don't worry. If it goes too many hours without doing anything, the watchdog process will kill it. And if that happens, post a message with a link to the errored result in the Rosetta 5.25 error thread. |
