guys, i dont believe there is the need to delete your account, if you just do the same as above, your account is just an empty shell, it only contains your posts in the message board and the statistics of the things you crunched in the past. but there is nothing left to relate it to you.

I did some crunching for a project that was so crummy, I didn't want it to show up in my combined statistics so anyone could see it.

My BOINCSTATS page and my BOINC manager has my Rosetta account that I want to keep. I have a different account on Rosetta home page with 86 credits. I want this account deleted (870706). I want my other Rosetta account to show up on Rosetta with all my current credits/wu's, etc. How is this done? I cannot get a straight answer and want the account stated above deleted and the other put in its' place.

Richard, you are confusing host IDs, and user IDs. This thread is using the term account to refer to user IDs. Your "Richard" user ID only shows one inactive machine created on it.

...and I've already explained that it is not possible to merge credits from one user ID to some other user ID. It's a pretty straight answer. You will have to chalk all 86 credits up to a learning experience. I suggest you ask further questions at the stats site you are using.

This is about Science! What part of paper trail leaves room for no way to track back to who did what, answer NONE! So go read the original post in this thread and change your info to something you are okay with and the Science info will not lead back to you personally, but instead to some nondescript account.

NOt sure why there is a panic to delete the accounts ...

But, for those that think that deleting the account will make everything about you go away on the internet that may have come from this ... guess again ... it won't happen ...

Google and the other search engines keep their own copies of information they scan as do the various "time Machines" that cache snapshots of the whole of the Internet.

So, even if it were possible to delete the account ... the information will still be out there ...


As for PPaH, all the admin did is what Mod.Sense said ... he changed your e-mail address and possibly your name ... that makes it so you cannot use the account. If you know your id number you can still see the data (assuming the site is up) ... for example, if I recall correctly my id was 881 which you can tell from the profile that it is me ...

Not that it matters much, the project seems to be dead ...
