Hi,

I've been running my first WU since yesterday. For some reason it keeps exiting and going back to 83%. I've got up to 91.67% before this happens.

The CPU time then resets too. I've had nothing running in the background except BOINC and the necessary Windows stuff. I've even run a disk check as mentioned in the wiki but nothing. This problem doesn't happen with my other projects. I'm currently only running Rosetta (all others are suspended) and I have 1.5Gb RAM so it's not a memory problem.

Any ideas what I can do without resetting the project?

See the other threads here about this issue. The estimate to completion isn't working very well for this project at the moment. It will jump around quite a bit and take long periods to update. Just ignore it for now and wait to see how long it actually takes a WU to complete.

I have decided to abort the workunit as I have no indication as to whether it is a problem with the WU time reporting or whether the WU is going back and doing work again from the last checkpoint...dropped down to 75% after another process exit.

I'm gonna drain my work queue from other projects and then transfer my BOINC settings onto another more stable HD just in case it is a HD problem.

Edit:// As I thought....it's only got 18 minutes of work listed even though it's been running uninterrupted since yesterday.

Will start crunching again once a more stable version is available.

Edit 2:// Decided I was being rather defeatist especially when this project needs our experience to solve any problems before coming out of BETA. Completed the migration of BOINC successfully without draining the work queue. Will drain the queue of all outstanding work except CPDN and try again in a few days :)
