Hello,

I was doing some reading around but couldn't find an exact answer..

I am new to the Boinc project as a whole, and was doing F@H for sometime. (over 4K units folded)

-I'm running Rosetta, and GPU grid. Id like to keep projects isolated between cpu/gpu for constant folding.

-I currently have 3 computers up running Rosetta. All but one seems to be working correctly.

-On my main machine(one that is not getting the WUs), I am getting a "reached daily quota" under the event log. It says my quota is 8?

-The other two machines do not seem to have this issue after 24 hours of use.

- I understand that Boinc wants to "balance" projects, however I am only running Rosetta as the CPU intensive task. (or is it trying to balance w/gpu grid?)

- Is there a way to change my quota, or even eliminate it? I am not a fan of downtime when there doesn't need to be.

- If not, what other CPU tasks can I use that would directed at same/similar causes of Rosetta?

-What will changing my resources ratio do for me?(if anything)

Thank you all in advance,

Hi,

Your host in question, https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/results.php?hostid=1593706 is not getting any work because the results are failing. Quotas are reset when tasks are successfully completed, and are reduced when tasks fail. It is probably related to what is becoming known as "the nVidia bug". It's actively being worked by the project. There are many threads on this problem, the latest being https://boinc.bakerlab.org/forum_thread.php?id=6177

I encourage you to post your experiences on that thread to help the project nail down the problems.

Hi,

I've got the same problem in that I can't get new work units. I've got two machines on this net and one works fine, this one works for the climate prediction and einstein projects.
Digging into my logs, the failure for this project has been a longstanding issue on this box (June 1 is the last date I can find any useful activity). The current log output for a request is:

[rosetta@home] update requested by user
[rosetta@home] Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
[rosetta@home] Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA
[rosetta@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks

One apparent problem is the lack of request for CPU tasks.

Any thoughts on how to fix?

Thanks....

Right, Rosetta does not have GPU tasks, only CPU. BOINC does not request both types at the same time. GPU task requests eventually become less and less frequent as BOINC learns there aren't any.

If you aren't seeing requests for CPU work, it must mean that the BOINC Manager feels your machine already has enough work for the period of time specified in your network preferences for how often to connect.
