If Rosetta is not comparing the results of one task to one run on another system how does it decide if something is "valid"?Rosetta@home Wiki. Completed results are sent to a central project server where they are validated and assimilated into project databases. Grant Darwin NT |

I'm often getting these error messages when I connect: Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /projects/boinc/rosetta/html/inc/user.inc on line 317 Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /projects/boinc/rosetta/html/inc/user.inc on line 321 Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /projects/boinc/rosetta/html/inc/user.inc on line 321 Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /projects/boinc/rosetta/html/inc/user.inc on line 322 Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /projects/boinc/rosetta/html/inc/user.inc on line 326 |

If you try to reconnect to Einstein@Home to get got workunits. expect problems if you have lost access to the email server you used on such an account previously and ALSO have lost your previous password for Einstein@Home. Their recovery procedures can handle loss of one of the two, but not both. |

I'm often getting these error messages when I connect:What do you mean by connect? I think he's probably getting these messages when connecting to the website using web browser. If so, it's not anything to worry about, it's something the project administrator(s) need to fix in the web code. |

I'm often getting these error messages when I connect:What do you mean by connect? I mean log in so I can see if the project has fixed their Windows workunits. They have made the Windows versions of their workunits appear to be of very little value for the last few months. |

I mean log in so I can see if the project has fixed their Windows workunits.FIxed them in what way? They have made the Windows versions of their workunits appear to be of very little value for the last few months.??? The amount of Credit hasn't changed AFAIK for a given task on given computer. However much Credit you'd have got per Task 12 months ago, that's what you'd be getting now. Grant Darwin NT |

I'm often getting these error messages when I connect:What do you mean by connect? Those error messages look a lot like some of the website errors I have gotten on another project when updating a system profile on another (nameless) project. Proud member of the O.F.A. (Old Farts Association) |

Fixed them in running the intended work, rather than losing its path to it and running a default workunit instead. Getting credit is not what I'm trying for, but doing something to help medical research. |

Fixed them in running the intended work, rather than losing its path to it and running a default workunit instead.I have absolutely no idea what you are going on about there. There are no default Work Units. The manager can only run the Task that is allocated to it and it has downloaded (unless you personally have some sort of Task Rescheduler, or do so manually). Each Task is unique (all those ending in _0)- the only ones that aren't are resends (eg _1, _2 etc) where the originally sent Task hasn't been returned or the returned Task was an Error or Invalid. Just arrived home from 3 days away and found no tasks here. Did an update and received 8 tasks, but I'm getting lots of download errors in the form 29/06/2025 01:39:15 | Rosetta@home | Temporarily failed download of 12mrredo_12_hallucinated_174_206.zip: transient HTTP error Rebooted and no change Server status currently showing Download server boinc-files.bakerlab.org Not Running So it's not me. I assume everyone else currently has the same problem? Who knows when this will be fixed... ![]() ![]() |

It seems that someone from administrators of these hosts (fw1.ipd.uw.edu and fw2.ipd.uw.edu, which used to upload completed WUs via boinc-files.bakerlab.org) come up to disabling TLS 1.2 support, leaving only TLS 1.3, having clearly thought badly about their decision. So, those BOINC clients that rely on cryptographic libraries that do not support TLS 1.3 (for example, Schannel in Windows 10) cannot upload completed tasks or download new ones (since there are completed but not uploaded tasks in the queue). |

Server status currently showingWell, there's a new issue to add to all the other existing issues. But, strangely, I’m still receiving downloads - latest at 12:31:30 UTC. On the other hand, I’m now getting a fair few CHI Angle invalid errors. |

Just arrived home from 3 days away and found no tasks here. Ok, so WCG has come back to life on this PC. I'm working again. I had a look at my laptop, which is Windows 11, updated Rosetta and a new task came down ok. I checked my other two remote PCs, which are both Windows 10 and they seem to be working too. So now I'm back thinking there is something wrong with my main PC, which is the one I recently installed a new disk on and had all those permission issues and Norton issues to sort out. It's been working fine for 3 weeks, but has now decided to have a problem that's Rosetta only and not WCG. I can't find any further issues in Norton and don't know if any permission issues are still causing a problem somewhere in the background. I'm stuck... ![]() ![]() |

I had two work units stuck in download yesterday, and two more arrived this morning, so 8 files stuck at the moment. This machine is also running under Windows 10. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

Sid, No Rosetta stuck atm on my Ubuntu/Linux box. WCG started downloading again. The only idea(s) I have would be a completely fresh install of your Windows OS after backing up all your data. And/Or a Rosetta project reset? Proud member of the O.F.A. (Old Farts Association) |
