I noticed that BOINC Manager (BM) log file shows hundreds of downloads from Rosetta that were not showing up in either the tasks tab or the transfer tab. Earlier, the downloads were showing up.

Is there a maximum that can be shown in the BM?

Each task requires many files. Some are very small and transfer very quickly. Is it possible you didn't see them in the transfers tab because they had already completed transmission? I'm not aware of any limit on how many files can be displayed. Otherwise, I think you were expecting to see a task per file, but sometimes tasks share common files and they are only downloaded once and used by several tasks, other times tasks require multiple smaller files and so you could have 10 downloaded files just for a single task. But you still just see the one task in the tasks list.
