hi everyone! I'd like to suggest for project maintainers to look into mac-arm binaries for Rosetta @ Home native M - series binaries would have a great performance benefit over X86_64 The Einstein@Home project has created a native binary for Mac M1 devices and it runs WAY quicker than the same app but with the x86_64 binary (I've been watching over it explicitly to gauge any difference if any and it was huge in my mind!) see here: https://einsteinathome.org/apps.php https://einsteinathome.org/content/native-apple-silicon-m1-app-available?page=6 |

When is the deadline increase to 14 days scheduled? Never. This was a proposal from the beginning of 2019, since when a whole world of things have changed. Deadlines reduced to 8 days, then again to 3 days permanently. If your tasks aren't able to complete in time, reduce your online stock of tasks to a level that will allow them to complete within 3 days |

I am finishing in 3 days. Just cuts down some other projects which have a longer deadline. I don't see any way to limit the number of rosetta jobs outside of changing the total run time available which affects all projects. |

It doesn't cut down other projects, except that Rosetta is another project in your mix and requires a turn. Boinc will call from each project according to your processing and resource share and any debt accrued which, with the shortfall in availability over the last several months, may be quite a lot. That's most likely what you're seeing right now. Balance of projects doesn't apply at any <one> time (ie your current stock of tasks), but over a period of time where lots of factors will come into play. |
