While searching DARPA's website today for business opportunities (for my company), I stumbled upon an interesting possible funding source for Rosetta et al...DARPA!

The weblink below describes what DARPA's goals are (similar to Rosetta's protein design goals), and the program manager's contact info if the Rosetta development team (Dr. Baker et al) has interest in following up on it.

Good eye, but the group is already supported by DARPA! I don't know if it is same program, but I'll wager that it is....

If they are already funded by DARPA, that would explain why the goals of the protein design appear to match so closely...good 'nuf!

yes--it is no coincidence! we are leading a darpa sponsored 14 institution team to solve the enzyme design problem. because of the large i/o requirements of our enzyme design calculations currently, we aren't running them on boinc now, but this should change in not too long.

So will it be possible to publish the DARPA-funded research in the usual journals (will it even be possible to report on the work on the webpage) or are there some military secrecy requirements involved ?
