This morning , my sdterr.txt in c:boincslot2 has grown to over 9GB. It is completely full of the following messages 1: SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126 1: SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126 1: SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126 1: SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126 1: SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126 1: SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126 1: SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126 1: SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126 1: SymGetLineFromAddr(): GetLastError = 126 I have shut down BOINC. So to questions, what should I do before starting BOINC back up? Can anything be done to limit the number of times an error message gets written? |

The file should rotate and get deleted automatically from time to time. You can delete this file while BOINC is shut down without problems. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

I would delete the errors that are duplicated from the file or delete the file itself while BOINC is turned off. It sounds like the WU may have been stuck and generating the same message over and over as a result. In any case you sould reduce the size of the file. Moderator9 ROSETTA@home FAQ Moderator Contact |

The file should rotate and get deleted automatically from time to time. You can delete this file while BOINC is shut down without problems. Mine got to 28GB. I only knew this was happening because of the poor performance of my PC. |
