Want to be sure I understand the question. You've set your General Preferences to "connect about every 10 days", correct? (seems rather HIGH value, but, increasing the setting is the first step to getting more work units). Did you then update with that project? (You will see a message that mentions new preferences being updated). From that point on, when Rosetta requests work, it should attempt to bring you 10 days of work units. It sounds like you are on a slow connection, and so part of your problem is the SIZE of the workunits, is that correct? Rosetta is trying to make the work units flexible so that you can define how long you'd like to crunch on each one. Read more about that here. But be careful. If you have a half dozen work units downloaded, their estimated runtimes will increase as soon as all the settings go through. So what you do is wait until you're down to just a couple of unprocessed WUs (sounds like you're already there) then update the Rosetta-specific preferences, increase the time to crunch on each WU, update to the project again, and your machine will study each protein it downloads is more detail. This reduces the number of WUs you need to keep your machine productive. And that should help you make good use of the unstable network connection it sounds like you are working with. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |
