I have been running SETI@home since it switched to BOINC last year with no problems.
I tried to attach Rosetta to my BOINC manager and have been unable to succisfully complete this.
Now my SETI will not talk to the server either!

BOINC Manager says it is connected to the Local Host and finished running the workunits that I had. Now it cannot resolve hostname either for Work units or to update.
When I try to attach Rosetta to BOINC I go to the manager. I go to the Projects tab, Attach to Project and follow the cues. When I copy and paste the URL in, it communicates and then comes back with the error message, "The URL you supplied is not that of a BOINC-based project. Please check the URL and try again."
That is as far as I can get. I have no page that asks for my email address and password.
The URL I am using is "https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/"
Any help would be most appreciated.

Scott, it sounds like you're doing everything right. The website actually shows the project URL without the trailing slash, but I think it works both ways.

One issue I've seen is if you've suspended network activity, the "attach" function doesn't seem to really understand that and fails rather than reminding you that you've requested BOINC NOT use the network at present. This is in the Commands pulldown in the BOINC Manager, make sure the second black dot is in front of "Network Activity Always Available". That might be why your SETI work is having problems too.

Also, I see the BOINC project status page shows Rosetta in yellow at present, implying their not fully functional at the moment. However, I see all their servers show running status, and I just updated to the project without any problems. So give 'er another try and see if it goes through.

If that doesn't work, I've seen where sometimes when my PC has been on for a long time, it seems to eventually trash my fulltime internet connection. I have to reboot the PC (do a file -> exit in BOINC manager before shutting down the PC) to reestablish my internet connectivity.

That should do it. Please post again if any further problem.

Welcome to Rosetta!!

the previous post is good information but since you are pasting the address, make certain there is not a space in front of the address after you paste it in. This happens sometimes and it will prevent you from contacting the server.

Regards
Phil

Great suggestions all guys and thanks for the input. Unfortunately neither of them worked.
Should I just delete and reinstall BOINC?

As an update I downloaded a fresh BOINC Manager, deleted the old one and reinstalled the fresh download. I still have the same issues.

HELP!

Thank You,

...and you're able to post on the message boards, so am I correct to presume that your browser is working properly, on the PC you are installing BOINC on?

Oh, I see now it looks like you just downloaded some WUs today successfully! And completed your first one. Great! Keep crunchin' Rosetta!

...now fess up. What did you find the problem to be? A new user tomorrow may run in to the same thing, and will want to know what you found out.
