Is this a bug? Or did someone seriously make the decision that I need to have a full 20 gigs available of memory at all times to do Rosetta@Home python projects? I've freed up space 4 times in the last few months for this project. Isn't the whole point of this supposed to be it runs in the background when we're not using our computer? This is the message I get on my notices tab in BOINC: Rosetta@home: Notice from server rosetta python projects needs 3774.10MB more disk space. You currently have 15299.38 MB available and it needs 19073.49 MB. 4/18/2022 7:14:03 PM I'm sorry, but that's absurd. This is a volunteer project. Someone please elaborate on what's going on with this. |

rosetta python projects needs 3774.10MB more disk space. You currently have 15299.38 MB available and it needs 19073.49 MB.It requires more storage, not memory. How much is needed depends on how many Cores/threads you have. The more cores/threads you want to use, then the more storage space is required in order to run those extra Tasks. Grant Darwin NT |

20 Gig , is that all , how about 357 Gb for a dedicated python cruncher other than that see the `disk space` thread https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=14903 |

Is this a bug? Or did someone seriously make the decision that I need to have a full 20 gigs available of memory at all times to do Rosetta@Home python projects? See my post in that thread. I explained what needs to be done after having this discussion on Github. The experts said this is what needs to be done in your set up. Goto computing preferences and the Disk and Memory tab and adjust the checks and values accordingly. Should solve your problem. It solved mine. |
