I'm away from home a lot, and use VPN to connect back to the home PC. Since I've been running Rosetta, I've found that I can't connect through the VPN after a few days.

A quick phone call home to reset the PC, and we're back online. However, it's a pesky nuisance.

Why do I blame Rosetta? Well, when I got home last week, the PC was "locked up". I found the problem was a program called Rosetta_(stream.of.letters.and.numbers).exe

I've disabled Rosetta for the moment (and all is well again with the VPN), but can anyone tell me what this .exe file is and how I stop it crashing the PC? I thought BOINC took care of everything?

BOINC is still running, happily processing SETI, Einstein, and others.

The PC: Pentium 4 3.2GHz, 1GB RAM, XP Pro, Draytek V2800G modem/router, usual peripherals.

Do you run it as a screen saver ?
If so, try it without. OR it could just be heating up your CPU more than seti/einstein are and locking that way.

Any funny messages in BOINC messages or Event Viewer ?
