The Tasks tab shows I have workunits downloading, but nothing ever gets downloaded. Under the Transfers tab it shows there are units downloading and pending, but no progress is ever shown on these. Everything seems to be stuck. I have tried reseting the project, I have tried exiting BOINC and restarting the computer. Nothing works. Dead in the water for now.

Tom -- Same pblm., with my (Sony VAIO, w/VISTA). The only program running effortlessly is climateprediction.net. Am having to sort the wheat from the
chaff. Perhaps one of us, including Baker Lab, can come up with a solution.

Cheers,

JM

Tom -- WU downloads now successful; hat-tip to Baker Lab. Hope you've experienced same.

Reguards,

WU not downloading for >1 day now. Nothing appears to get the dl going. I've updated/reset and restarted to my hearts content, climate prediction and E@H still merrily work away, just no R@H work units to work on! ANy help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

The loosest of loosestpings.

Loosestping, does the message when you update to Rosetta indicate that BOINC is requesting new work? If not, it is because it plans to crunch the other projects for a while before doing more Rosetta. BOINC is following your resource allocation. If you wish to crunch Rosetta more of the time, you can increase your resource share in your Rosetta preferences.

With the climate WUs, their estimated time to complete often varies widely. BOINC is trying to assure that you get everything done before the deadlines. And it factors in things like BOINC not running 24hrs per day on your machine. So it often needs to crunch on the climate WU for a day or two for the estimate to revise down again, at which point BOINC may feel it can take on additional tasks and safely expect to complete them before the deadlines.

I'm still wet behind the ears regarding Boinc and Rosetta. Today I got an error with beneat it the text "no work".

I didn't have any other projects.

I joined another project now, because in a weird manner, my computer doesn't freeze up when I'm using Boinc but freezes up almost directly when I pauze Boinc or shut-down boinc completely. But that is actually a different matter and a bit o/t.
