My first Rosetta work unit is taking a long time to complete. I got up to 76% completed yesterday by running Rosetta full time for eight hours but this morning it shows 60% completed and processing time is back to 0. This has happened twice before earlier in the process when a smaller precent had been completed. Additional work was requested this morning and the response was that the current work unit would not finish in the time allowed. Is this how Rosetta works or do I have a bad work unit? I'm reluctant to abort the work unit but may have to if it doesn't complete today with running it full time all day. |

Rosetta does not currently have checkpointing. When the process is unloaded from memory, the progress starts over from scratch. This will hopefully be remedied in the near future. BOINC WIKI |

Rosetta does not currently have checkpointing. When the process is unloaded from memory, the progress starts over from scratch. This will hopefully be remedied in the near future. So does this mean that I should change the following General preference to Yes to avoid this problem of workunits "forgetting" their progress? Leave applications in memory while preempted? (suspended applications will consume swap space if 'yes') Please advise! |
