I have a quad-core pc now. so im using the cpu`s to full effect. I know someone who has developed cancer. So it effects me deeply. Therefore it`s a stronger reason to carry on processing.... I would like to use each core to run different projects from a drop-down selction menu.... rosetta@home help cure cancer solar technology clean water maybe have an onscreen adjustable bar or percentage graph to select how much CPU power each project uses. any way to speed it up (simpler code) to make the program use less CPU/GPU maybe make a customize program -sleep/shutdown- selection: (auto shutdown e.g: MSN, SKYPE... at night time or processes not needed when the pc is idle). |

BOINC supports you scheduling time of day and days of week that it should be using CPU. See preferences on your BOINC Manager. It also supports establishing "resource shares" to define allocation of resources across projects. The latest versions of BOINC Manager also support a zero resource share as a way to identify a project that will only be asked for work if other projects don't have any. A "backup project" to give your machine something useful to do during any outage of your preferred project(s). Resource shares don't allow you to designate one CPU for this, one CPU for that. But you can establish a 25% resource share to each project, or more to your favorite, as you wish. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |
